How long will it take for my body to start feeling normal again after surgery?
Since each procedure yields different results and everyone heals at a different pace, clients can typically expect to feel levels of discomfort for up to 4 to 6 weeks after surgery before they start to feel normal again.
Do I have to have surgery to receive lymphatic massages?

How many massages will I need after surgery?
Depending on your procedure, the rate you are healing, and many other important factors, the number of massages needed will vary. This will all be addressed in your consultation session. The number of treatments needed will also vary for traditional massage and body contouring services.
Why do I need a faja after surgery? Will a waist trainer do?
A waist trainer can never replace the heightened and even compression achieved by a Faja. Fajas not only help to shape and mold the body as you are healing, but they also help you heal faster. A waist trainer is better suited for non-surgical body contouring clients.
How long after surgery can sexual activity resume?
As early as two weeks post-op, with your faja on.
What should I be eating pre-op? What should I be eating post-op?
For the most part, follow the keto diet -- low to zero carbohydrates, high healthy fats.
How soon after surgery can I start ultrasound therapy, cavitation, and/or radio frequency?
On average, around 3-4 weeks post-op.
What is cellulite?
Cellulite is the appearance of lumpy and dimpled skin that can worsen with age. Cellulite is caused by broken connective tissues called fascia. Fascia is made of collagen, weakens with age, and holds everything together under the skin, including fat cells. Roughly 90% of women and 10% of men show visible signs of cellulite in their lifetime. The reason why men show a significantly less amount of cellulite than women is because they have a different pattern in their connective tissue. Men’s fascia lies crisscross in a waffle-like pattern, so if there is any fat underneath the tissue it will not push through. Women’s fascia on the other hand lies vertically (up and down), so any fat bulging through appears as cellulite. Cellulite can develop from hormone imbalance, aging, food intake and dehydration.
Weight loss and exercise can help improve the appearance of cellulite, along with other treatments like laser-lipo, radio frequency procedures, cryo-slimming, and retinol creams. Wood Sculpt treatments are one of the best ways to really help diminish the appearance of cellulite and loosen and restore the fascia. The friction of the wood tools on the skin creates a toning effect, helping break down volume that has been crystallized for many years, smoothing out layers, and creating a plumped healthier look.
How many body contouring treatments do I need until I see results?
Some clients have seen results in one treatment, while others did not see drastic changes until after 6-12 treatments. Every body is different and will not respond the same to treatments depending on their age, lifestyle, level of cellulite, etc. This is not a quick fix solution to counterbalance an unhealthy lifestyle. Body contouring is designed to maximize your healthy eating habits and exercise routine, especially if you have plateaued. The ideal candidate is already in the mindset of wanting to make better choices, maintain their results, or enhance their already healthy lifestyle. I can get the engine started, but I cannot drive the train down the tracks – it is all up to you!
How soon after surgery do I start getting massages?
Depending on the procedure, usually, you will start getting massages day one post-op (the day after surgery). However, if you had a tummy tuck, you would not start massages until day seven post-op.
Are post-op massages supposed to be painful?
There is going to be a level of discomfort, you just had surgery, but your massages should not be painful. On a scale of 1-10, incisional drainage and post-op massages range from 4 to 5 on the pain scale.

I just had a BBL, when can I sit on my butt?
Four weeks post-op but start in 20-to-30-minute increments.
Are the itching and random shooting pains normal?
Yes, those are your nerves “waking up.”
What is fibrosis of the skin after liposuction?
After any kind of surgery, the skin can build up adhesions. This adhesion is present in the process of scarring and is an unnatural accumulation of elements in the form of bands which abnormally connect two or more surfaces of tissues and disturb the body functions. Such adhesions may arise from surgical procedures, trauma, and radiations during the process of wound repair, especially when the process is unbalanced. These adhesions may be made up of atoms, molecules, cells, and tissues. They hinder organ movements and may block blood supply and nutrition to the organs, causing pain and decreasing organ functioning. Fibrosis will not present itself until about 4 weeks post-Op; it is not possible to acknowledge it as such prior to this point of time.
How long after surgery can I return to work?
This always depends on the procedure and when your doctor gives you clearance. If you only had lipo, you could return to work after the first week. If you had a BBL, you could return to work after two weeks. Tummy tuck procedures and body lift procedures should be gauged according to your comfort level, but most people are cleared to return to work after two weeks. If possible, waiting 3-4 weeks to return to work would be your best option.
What are the different levels/degrees of cellulite?
Level One: Most of the time localized on the arms, thighs, abdomen, and buttocks. “Man-made cellulite” – lightly visible when crossing legs or manipulating the tissue.
Level Two: The edematous cellulite often affects thighs and knees, but most frequently found in the lower legs, which lose definition. Dimpling is noticed when standing.
Level Three: Compacted/dense cellulite that is hard and localized on the abdomen, outer hips, and thighs. Often comes down into the back of the knees and calves. Skin can be painful when touched.
I just had a baby; when can I receive a body contouring treatment?

Do you offer any skin tightening services?

How do post-op massages help with my recovery?
They will help your body heal faster, minimize your level of discomfort, and maximize and maintain your results.
Is that blood coming out of my incisions during the massages?
Yes, it is a mixture of red and white blood cells, plasma, anesthesia, tumescent fluid, water, interstitial fluid, and lymph.
I recently had plastic surgery; can I try Wood Sculpt?
There is an 8 to 12-week minimum wait period after any plastic surgery procedure to receive Wood Sculpt treatments. All post-op massages must be completed, and all bandages, ports, drains, and stitches must be removed. Medical clearance from your surgeon is also required.
Why do I need a consultation?
A consultation is required before your first post-op and/or body contouring treatment. During your consultation, pictures and measurements will be taken and used to keep track of your progress. You will answer a series of questions to help come up with a treatment plan that will work best for your body type. Typically, clients will see some results after one treatment, but at least 6 up to 18 treatments may be necessary to see full body changes depending on your diet, lifestyle, level/degree of cellulite and goals.
How long will my results last?
This is one of the most common questions I get. It is important to point out that nothing in this life is permanent and anything achieved must be maintained. If you achieve amazing results in the gym and just stop working out, your results fade. If you dye your hair and it grows out, the colors must be reapplied. If you get braces to adjust your teeth, a retainer must be worn to hold the results firm. Non-surgical body contouring treatments are no different. It is important to keep in mind that non-surgical fat reduction should be accompanied by a healthy lifestyle, including a healthy diet and regular exercise. This will help you to maximize and maintain results.
Do you ever massage the buttocks?
If you had a fat transfer, we do not touch the grafted areas until at least three months post-op. Non-surgical treatments do include cellulite and skin tightening services that can be performed on the buttocks area with written and verbal consent from the client.
I am more than 3 months post op. Can you still help mold my body?
Yes, we can even mold bodies that never had surgery!
What instruments are used during body contouring?
The instruments used during your treatments are safe and include FDA approved state of the art equipment like cavitation machines, skin tightening machines, wood sculpt tools, cellulite treatment machines, infrared light therapy, and more.
Are wood sculpt treatments painful?
No, wood sculpt treatments should never be painful. You may experience minimal discomfort in certain areas during your first treatment, but please always communicate with your specialist throughout your sessions.
Is there any downtime or side effects after body contouring treatments?
No, there is no downtime. You can go about your day as usual after any body contouring treatment. The most common side effect is taking numerous trips to the bathroom to eliminate the excess fluid that was drained through your lymphatic system. You may also experience basic detox symptoms such as headaches, nausea, fatigue, bloating, cramping, gas, and muscle soreness. Body contouring treatments should not cause excessive bruising; however, you may experience some immediate redness in treated areas due to the increase in blood flow. It is especially important to stay extremely hydrated, drinking 80 ounces to one gallon of water daily. It is typical for clients to experience a bowel movement shortly after an abdominal treatment. Clients may also experience an early menstrual cycle; this is totally normal.
