Wood Therapy

Wood Therapy is a holistic body contouring/sculpting technique in which manual lymphatic drainage techniques, along with wooden tools, are used to naturally detox and contour the body.  Wood Therapy has a firming effect on the skin as it activates the production of elastin and collagen, smooths out unwanted bulges, boosts your metabolism and improves blood circulation.  This safe and effective, non-invasive treatment uses anatomically designed wood tools with the proper application of pressure to aid in the accumulation of stored volume, help reduce cellulite, contour the waist, and lift the buttocks.  The skin and underlying tissue is rolled, stretched, torqued, smoothed, and suctioned in a specific manner without harm.

Wood Therapy (maderoterapia) has been practiced for centuries, originating in Eastern countries where therapists used ancient oriental wood manipulation techniques, mostly for therapeutic purposes.  It later evolved into the use of smooth wood tools by therapists and estheticians in Colombia.  They developed a new and unique wood therapy method and adapted it to cater to therapeutic and aesthetic purposes.  They also gave it the name maderoterapia since Madera means wood in Spanish.  Maderoterapia became a worldwide synonym for wood therapy as a new, revolutionary massage technique.  Now in 2021, the most popular use for wood therapy is body contouring/sculpting because it provides real and visible results in as little as one treatment.  This new technique not only contours the body, but also improves your health overall.

Lymphatic drainage massage techniques are designed to move stagnant fluid in the body to clear out cellular debris, waste, and pathogens from the tissue and replace it with fresh, new lymph fluid by using the body’s lymphatic system.  The lymphatic system is comprised of capillaries, vessels, nodes, and special organs to transport lymph from the tissues as it returns from the bloodstream.  Lymph fluid is compromised of 90% water and 10% solutes such as protein, cellular waste, lipids (fats), hormones, dissolved gases, and pathogens.  Through the contractions of our muscular skeletal movement and respiration, lymph flow is encouraged to move towards the heart where it terminates at the subclavian vein reentering the bloodstream.  Lymphatic fluid is then reused, recycled through the body again, or is eliminated from the body through urine, bowel movements, sweat, or skin.  When lymphatic fluid becomes stagnant or congested, disease can set up in the body causing pain, inflammation, and a slow metabolism, leaving excess weight behind with it.

The objective of Wood Therapy is to intensify the breakdown and elimination of fat and fibrous cellulite that accumulates in different parts of the body such as the hips, thighs, and abdomen so that it can be eliminated naturally.  This technique employs repetitive movements using different wooden instruments to manipulate targeted areas of muscle, fat, and cellulite.  Not only does Wood Therapy stimulate the lymphatic system to remove unnecessary water, fat, and other toxins from the body, it is also used to shape, plump and firm the buttocks.

Wood Therapy is a 100% natural, non-invasive treatment that stimulates the production of elastin and collagen, reducing wrinkles and smoothing out bulges.  By activating the lymphatic system, it helps reduce and combat water retention while improving circulation, and speeding up the metabolism, and eliminating harmful toxins from the body.  By breaking down cellulite and re-locating volume, Wood Therapy lifts, tones, and tightens skin, defines arms and legs, contours the waist, and firms the thighs and buttocks. Wood Therapy also has many health benefits such as boosting the immune system, eliminating muscle pain and stiffness, reducing inflammation, improving muscle recovery time, and decreasing stress for total relaxation.
